This week I love – 20/05/12

There are few things that caught my attention this week.

I have found this brilliant playlist created for studying. I am in the middle of my exams right now and this playlist is just fabulous. It is about 8 hours long and it contains a classical or instrumental music only. Very calming.

I have found this beautiful ear studs on www.etsy.com. Our upcoming Queen’s Jubilee made me inspired to look for something British. Made by Manuela S. They are really cute.

I just love the new collection from one of my favourite online shops www.greatplains.co.uk. I can’t wait for their summer sale!

I was looking for a cove photo for my timeline on my Facebook page. I have came across to this inspirational quote from Audrey Hepburn. I just love it!

 

Culinary feast in Lisbon

When I travel I like to explore. Not only unknown places but the culture and food as well. I like to try local specialities and traditional dishes. I’ve heard a lots of praise about Portuguese food.

While being in Lisbon, I tasted and tries the most typical traditional dishes. Portugal is famous for their seafood dishes and as I live seafood that was my main focus on tasting.

On my second day, while browsing the streets and trying to find a decent place to eat, a restaurant called Santiago caught my attention. I asked for a typical Portuguese feast. As a started I had a nice selection of local cheeses and as a drink I have been recommended a nice crisp white wine.

For a main I had a Shellfish Rice.  I like the way it was served.

It doesn’t look that appetizing on a plate but believe me, it was delicious.

This is the desert I went for. I can’t remember the name of it. I can remember that it tasted like a heaven : )

 

Of course I couldn’t miss the most famous pasty shop selling Pasteis de Nata.

Before I went to Lisbon, one friend of mine recommended to me one restaurant to go to. He told me that I must go in there to try some of their seafood. The restaurant is called Pinoquio http://pinoquio.pai.pt/. This place has a very long history and a very good reputation. As recommended I tried their clams with garlic and coriander. They very really delicious.

 

Lisbon

I just returned from my four day trip to Lisbon yesterday. I loved every minute of this trip. Those four days were fulfilled with exploring the unknown. I was completely amazed with Lisbon; with its architecture, character, traditions and food. Luckily for me, the weather was lovely. Not too hot and not too cold.

I have completely and utterly fallen in love with this place and I can’t wait to come back one day!
